Buildings & Grounds

In 2021, the Building and Grounds Division was formalized under the purview of the DPW.  We are directly responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and well-being of 4 public municipal facilities.  We do this through contracted services (i.e. mechanical, custodial), department assistance, the Expendable Maintenance Trust Fund (EMTF), and teamwork.

There is a lot to cover in making sure all Town-owned buildings and facilities are safe and accessible to the public. In addition to our buildings, we provide advisory oversight and assistance to the Leach Library, Lions Hall, Police Department, and all three fire stations.

Regarding grounds, we oversee all contracted services for landscaping, lawn mowing, turf management, and irrigation. We also provide winter maintenance of parking lots and sidewalks at our town facilities and the Town Common.
